The Villages Lodge is a community based endeavor and has been established since 2006. Located on the lagoon on the pristine shoreline of Discovery Beach overlooking the beautiful waters of the lagoon. All of the boats are anchored right out front and only seconds walk from your accommodation,once again capitalizing on no down time . Within 15 minutes of boarding your skiff you can be wading a flat and catching bonefish!! In fact plenty of bonefish can also be caught right on the flats in front of the Lodge!!
Maneaba Section
The Villages features 12 air-conditioned double twin share bungalows with covered porch that enjoy the beautiful lagoon views,all of them ensuited and having their own small fridge. Daily housekeeping provides you with fresh towels every day and also ensures your room is clean and tidy upon your return at the end of each day. A laundry service and WIFI is also available for a small weekly fee. A “maneaba” which is the local name for a gathering centre is at the heart of the Villages and has an adjoining bar,the perfect place to gather prior to dinner each evening to enjoy a drink and snacks,including fresh sashimi as well as chat about the days fishing and meet with the head guide to discuss the next day’s fishing programme
Food Section
Locally prepared fish, meats and chicken is prepared by well trained chefs and served by trained kitchen staff for dinner each night. Breakfasts include bacon and eggs,pancakes, toast, fruit juices as well as coffee and tea. Lunches are prepared after breakfast and include cold meats,cheese,salads and fruits.
After breakfast, anglers will be transported to the fishing in versatile and comfortable South Pacific style,seaworthy skiffs to a wide choice of productive bonefish flats ( bonefish,triggerfish and GT’s) and to the reef drop-offs for wahoo,GT’s, Milkfish,Sailfish and Yellowfin tuna. If conditions are favourable,truck transport can be arranged to fish the reef flats down at the Korean Wreck.
Guides Section
The Villages has a roster of 25 very experienced ,knowledgeable and well trained local guides,some with over 20 yrs. experience in guiding on Christmas Island. Our senior guides have been fishing the Island most of their lives and provide training and guidance to our younger guides to guarantee a very comprehensive and well organised fishing programme. We are extremely proud of our guiding team who we believe are some of the best guides available on the Island. As mentioned previously you will have one guide to yourself for the entire duration of your stay at no extra cost.
